Myofascial Therapy (Myo) melts adhesions and restrictions that occur in the fascia (skin that surrounds the muscles). The massage stroke is slow and allows the client's body to adapt at its own rate. Once the fascia is restored to normal length, the muscle tissue can re-establish its natural tone and flexiblity. Myo can be used in conjunction with other deep tissue and relaxation modalities, creating a customized session.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) uses a specific sequence of massage techniques throughout the length of the muscle and where it attaches to the bone. These attachment sites have many nerves that sense the length, tension, and location of the muscle. By working these attachment sites and trigger points (specific spots of irritability) within the muscle, the nerves send different signals to relax the muscle and return to its natural tonicity. NMT can be combined with other deep tissue and relaxation modalities, creating a customized session.

Sports/Athletic Massage benefits professional and novice athletes. Sports massage can be used before an athletic event, game, or workout to enhance performance and prevent injury. Afterwards, sports massage helps recover tired muscles and increase circulation. Between events, maintenance sports massage can be used to facilitate the healing process of injuries, and to aid in the prevention of future injuries. Swedish Relaxation Massage applies gentle, soothing strokes from head to toe which relaxes and rejuvenates the body. Research has proven that massage can decrease stress signals and increase circulation throughout the body, promoting a calm sense of well-being. It has been observed that congestion or tension in any part of the foot mirrors congestion or tension in a corresponding part of the body. Treating the whole foot can have a relaxing and healing effect on the whole body. A heated herbal neck wrap (optional) and an invigorating foot bath are included in the one-hour seesion to increase relaxation. CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that modifies and corrects restrictions in the CranioSacral system to improve wellness and enhance the body's self correction/regulation mechanism. Reiki techniqus are incorporated in the session to balance the energy system. The client remains fully clothed for the treatment. CranioSacral can be combined with deep tissue and relaxation modalities, creating a customized session.

An essential oil massage technique based on Lakota Native healing, Raindrop Therapy is the application of powerful antibacterial, antiviral oils along the spine and foot spine reflex points, restoring health to the entire system. Nine essential oils are dropped up the back from a height of 6-12 inches. The oils are gently massaged in with the Lakota “feathering” motion. Then, a warm moist towel is applied to the back to drive the oils further into the body.

Taking time to de-stress and connect with friends and family is important. Relaxation Massage Class explores the many benefits of massage. The applications of relaxation (Swedish) massage strokes will be demonstrated and practiced in seated and table (lying) massage routines. Techniques for self care will also be demonstrated. Participants will be able to give relaxing massage to friends and families as well as themselves. Private classes can be tailored to fit participants interests. This class is not designed to prepare the attendee to become a massage therapist or receive payment for massage as additional education would be required.

Pregnancy Massage Class is designed for family members to provide physical and emotional support to a loved one during pregnancy and labor. Expectant mothers and one companion (can be spouse, partner, family member or friend) learn relaxation pregnancy massage techniques, labor massage techniques, postural re-education as well as proper lying positions. Some benefits of pregnancy massage include: a decrease in stress, anxiety and muscle tension; an increase in circulation and overall well being of mother and baby; and creates a nurturing environment for couples to bond with the unborn child. This class is not designed to prepare the attendee to become a massage therapist as additional education would be required. Doulas or other paid care givers would also need additional training to perform massage. Class size is limited.
