Brief Description:

Parents/caregivers enjoy learning to massage their babies.  Massage stroke sequences for each body area (e.g. legs & feet, stomach, etc.) are introduced gradually throughout the four-session course.  Ample time is provided to review strokes at each class.  In addition, a gas/colic routine and gentle movements (aka baby yoga) are included in the class.  During infant/baby massage classes, there are no 'performance standards.'  Massage is done at the pace the babies are willing to accept.  Learning infant massage helps parents have focused one-on-one time with their child, and the benefits of daily massage are numerous.  Some benefits include:  establishes a nurturing routine of positive touch for families • encourages secure attachment • helps parents understand their baby’s unique language and cues • reduces baby’s stress and irritability • improves the quality of baby’s sleep • enhances weight gain and development in premature infants. The class provides an opportunity to learn and share nurturing touch with your child and a chance to connect with other families.  Class size is limited.
